EXECUTIVE COACHING
The essence of our approach at VantagePoint Executive Coaching is to help leaders getting unstuck from their dilemmas and assist them in transferring their learnings into results for their organisations.
Today’s foremost thinkers on leadership are unanimous in the view that we are in a new era of leadership that demands the continuous transformation of oneself to lead an organisation through constant and rapid change. It is also well understood that a company’s culture is largely a function of its leaders, and that an organisation’s culture directly impacts its performance.
VantagePoint Executive Coaching Framework
VantagePoint Executive Coaching Programme is based on two key principles.
It is structured, beginning with the clear identification of goals and measures, and it introduces appropriate models that allow for a greatly expanded self-awareness and clarity of focus.
There are four overarching components underpinning VantagePoint Coaching’s approach as illustrated in the Figure here.
It starts with recognising the specific business and organisational context in which the leader operates in. This is followed by reviewing any transitions, focussing on career and leader transitions.
A critical component underlying effective leadership is a positive leader identity which prepares leaders for future business challenges and dealing with experiences of uncertainty and complexity.
Lastly, coaching is viewed as a human development process that involves structured, focused interaction and the use of appropriate strategies, tools, and techniques to promote sustainable change for the benefit of the leader and the organisation.
Mapping the Coaching Engagement
Coaching is used as a tool to assist the leader or executive in realising sustainable change and personal development. Through a collaborative relationship between coach and coachee, the primary focus is on constructing solutions and achieving agreed goals and objectives. It’s a process of helping individuals to manage transition in terms of their personal development, goal achievement or role changes.
In many of the organisations that we work in, the coaching of senior managers and executives forms an integral component of the organisations’ leadership development strategy.
In order to support senior leaders, we employ a number of support strategies including mentoring, executive whispering, assessments and experimental learning assignments.
We assist senior managers and leaders to develop greater self-awareness; helping them in developing stronger personal confidence levels and transfer learning to the workplace by making links between theory and practice and lastly promote leaders’ personal well-being.
